The House for an Art Lover was designed in 1901 by Glasgow’s most celebrated architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Although it was not built during Mackintosh’s lifetime, construction began in 1989 and the House for an Art Lover became a reality in 1996. The House Of An Art Lover in Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park was completed in 1996, having been inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh's 1901 portfolio of drawings, which had been submitted as a competition entry to a German design magazine.
